Use this application to request a digital export validation from Dutch Customs.

Attention!
The electronic validation process is currently in a pilot phase. This application can only be utilized if you are departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam P&O, or Rotterdam Stena Line. Please note that not all shops and intermediaries are participating in this pilot program. Transactions from shops and VAT Refund Operators not partaking in the pilot will not be included in the application. Such transactions can be presented on paper at the Customs office.

If you reside outside the EU and are carrying goods back with you in your travel luggage from the Netherlands, you may reclaim VAT on items purchased from Dutch companies. To facilitate this VAT refund, you are required to obtain an export validation from Dutch Customs, a process that can be initiated using this application.

How does the application function?
To utilize the application, you will need to scan your passport. Following the scan, your transactions from participating shops in the Netherlands eligible for VAT refund will be displayed. You can then initiate a validation request, select the relevant transactions, and provide details about your journey outside the EU.

Upon your arrival at the airport or port, the application will guide you to a designated location where you can submit the validation request through the app interface. Dutch Customs will review your request, with two possible outcomes: immediate issuance of an export validation or a request for manual inspection of your purchases at the Customs office.

If there are transactions not visible in the app, you can present the paper documentation at the Customs office.
